SUMMER 2020 STUDY ABROAD OPPORTUNITY
FOR SLU MASTER OF ACCOUNTING AND MBA STUDENTS

The Graduate Business Office at Saint Louis University’s Richard Chaifetz School of Business with the Boeing Institute of International Business and the Master of Accounting Program.

Bring the world into the classroom and the classroom into the world with a GLOBAL BUSINESS IMMERSION experience! In May 2020, the RCSB is offering two intensive graduate business courses enhanced with a short-stay global immersion experience.

Program dates are May 16-May 29, 2020.

The classes will be held at the Saint Louis University Madrid campus and will include company visits and guest speakers. 

The following courses will be offered: 

IB-5910 European Business Strategy 
 
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Three credit hours--no pre-requisite.  Most class days will be half days.  
Monday, May 18-Wednesday, May 27
Emphasizing the complexities, competitive dynamics, opportunities, and challenges of the changing European business arena, this course is designed to introduce the student to a number of issues managers must consider when competing in Europe. It will also examine strategic choices that enable multinational firms to build and sustain their competitive advantage. The course focuses on multinational strategies that firms implement within an array of EU countries such as France, Spain, England and the emerging economies of Eastern Europe. Case studies, student presentations, guest speakers, and local company visits are the foundations of the course.

This class will have a session before departure and/or upon return. 
 
The instructor for this course is Dr. Mamoun Benmamoun.  

ACCT 5901- Financial Reporting and Analysis in IFRS
 
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This is a three-credit hour course with a pre-requisite of ACCT-4110.  Most class days will be half days. The instructor is Dr. Weimin Wang. The course runs Monday, May 18-Friday, May 29. 
 
This class will have a session before departure and/or upon return. 

ELIGIBILITY AND CREDIT

These study-abroad courses offer three graduate hours of credit each and are open to all MACC students and MBA students in good standing at Saint Louis University or any other AACSB-accredited business school. It is recommended that all students secure approval from their advisers to determine how this course may be used toward degree completion.  Please note that ACC 4400 is a pre-requisite for the graduate accounting course.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

ACCOUNTING STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
 The Accounting Department has seven $1,500 tuition scholarships available to assist Master of Accounting students with these six hours of credit. These scholarships will be awarded to the first seven MACC students to submit a completed application along with the required deposit.
 
TRAVEL SUBSIDY (open to all RCSB graduate student applicants)
 The International Business Department is working to develop travel assistance funding. To be eligible, you must submit an application to the course and the travel assistance application.  Note that there is no guarantee that the travel subsidy will be approved and available to students.
