Pre-Departure Orientation
In June, participants will meet in St. Louis to attend “SLU-101” and prepare for their academic and international experience, including placement in classes and meeting their academic advisor from Madrid. Additionally, students will come to campus for Fall Welcome Week activities where they will stay on campus and participate in activities with all new SLU students.

Group Flight
Following the welcome week activities on the main SLU campus in St. Louis, the group will travel together to Madrid, departing from St. Louis Lambert Airport. Someone from Parks College will be accompanying them on the flight. Students will also travel in a group at the end of the semester. Though, instead of all returning to St. Louis, they may choose to return to their hometown directly.

FOR SOPHOMORES

Informational Meeting
After being accepted into the program, invited applicants will have the opportunity to discuss the program in greater detail with staff from Parks College of Engineering, SLU Madrid and the Office of International Services. This will include information about applying for visas, obtaining passports and living and studying in Spain, as well as other special features of the program.  A date will be determined in the spring.

In the homestay, students enjoy breakfast, evening meals, and weekly laundry. Students have their own or shared room (single-sex) within the Spanish family's apartment. Students commute approximately 30 min by bus or metro from their homestays to the SLU-Madrid campus.
